Phil has spent four decades building technology inside institutions that were told it could not be done, with a history of firsts including the first 2:1 iPad program in American higher education as CIO at Seton Hill University. Before serving as Chief Future Officer at Maryville University, he ran the digital portfolio for the University of Texas System under Admiral William McRaven, notably leading innovation at Salesforce and growing the U.S. business of Robots & Pencils onto the Deloitte Fast 500. He co-founded febelabs, which builds sovereign data infrastructure for colleges and universities, on a simple argument: the model comes to the data, not the other way around. With Rhodes Advisors, Phil is dedicated to helping university leaders build data and AI strategy they actually own. He taught himself to code in 1985, never earned a degree, and builds for the 42 million Americans who started one and never finished.
